Hi, I have cced the rpm maintainer. Honestly I dont know, it only seems to conflict on a logrotate file, and obviously if the two configurations are done properly, both syslog-ng and rsyslog can run on the same machine. However the rpm is made with a number of assumptions. But I will let Peter to explain :) Cheers Bazsi On Oct 31, 2017 20:57, "Elphick, Matthew Thomas" <Matthew.Elphick@mmc.com> wrote:
Hello,
I am trying to install syslog-ng OSE on RHEL 7 but I get the following error.
Transaction check error:
file /etc/logrotate.d/syslog from install of syslog-ng-3.12.1-2.el7.centos.x86_64 conflicts with file from package rsyslog-8.24.0-12.el7.x86_64
I can’t remove rsyslog from the system as other people us it. What is the best way to resolve this issue?
Thanks for your help.
