Yes, we slipped quite a bit because we abandoned the old-style
packaging, in which case you had to hunt for dependencies. 

The current installer installs syslog-ng and everything in a single go.

This needed a lot of time on our part (all dependencies, SQL drivers,
etc), but will be much easier to use.

We are right in the middle of releasing syslog-ng PE 3.0, the packages
are already available, but the webpage updates are not yet finished.

I can give you or anyone else interested access to the new binaries.
