Is it possible to configure syslog-ng that it does not look at the date of the incoming log packet?
use_time_recvd(yes) .. see documentation.
Bazsi - Can we create a timestamp_recvd(yes) parameter that digitally timestamps, hashes and signs the timestamps with MD5 and SHA-1/2 routines? Todd

I might implement syslog-sign as developed by the syslog ietf working group, but that's going to be a syslog-ng 2 issue. (i'm planning to reimplement some parts of syslog-ng) -- Bazsi PGP info: KeyID 9AF8D0A9 Fingerprint CD27 CFB0 802C 0944 9CFD 804E C82C 8EB1

Does the working group have any drafts? Do you have links to them? How about links to a spec for current UNIX syslog format? Seems to differ slightly among UNIX flavors and codified only in source :)

We might also want to look at XDAS - the Unix Disrtibuted Audit Model that OpenGroup has as part of the UNIX Specification. T.
