Would it be possible to have a config file read in include files that have other definitions.

I haven't seen anyone mention such a patch, but, you can use a makefile to build the single config file from multiple build files. You could use the Makefile to kill -HUP also, leaving updating your syslog-ng as simple as "cd blah && make" -afort
