Just in case you're wondering why I'm trying to build from source, the current packages are built for amd64 and I'm running x86_64 on an Intel.

thanks, that was informative. That link seems to be only the client version, however. Is there a server binary that is also compiled to work with yum's x86_64?

Not currently, since I haven't made a 3.0.5 release yet. However you can install the 3.0.4 packages, if you use rpm instead of yum. That you can find on our upgrades page at: https://www.balabit.com/network-security/syslog-ng/opensource-logging-system... "Downloads" tab. -- Bazsi
