I want to know what influence occurs when syslogd service and syslog-ng service start in one node. Could anyone tell me?

Basically it depends on your syslog-ng configuration. If you omit /proc/kmsg and /dev/log from your config then syslog-ng and syslogd/klogd can co-operate. However as syslog-ng is superior to syslogd, I would like to recommend using it exclusively. it depends on the configuration, we run both on the same OS. we configure syslogd to do all the local logging, we configure syslog-ng to do all the network logging, you could configure syslog-ng to do both, we have two separate departments managing OS support vs application support, and syslog-ng is regarded application, so we often had another department configuring syslog-ng and messing up our local logging in the process, which is why we decided to use both. Hello I understood there is no influence when running syslogd and syslog-ng in same node under syslogd configure to do all the local logging and syslog-ng configure to do all the network logging. Then, which is logging destination when running syslogd and syslog-ng in same node under syslogd configure to do all the local logging(destination:A) and syslog-ng configure to do all the local logging(destination:B) ?
