Hello. I would like to redirect jboss's logs to syslog-ng but didn't succed in it. I found some informations using google naturally but that didn't help me really. I have tried several solutions with mkfifo/pipe but it was not good ... Have someone already done that ? Any idea ? Thanks Yop
Yop, did you read: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-2608 (How do I log JBoss output to a local or remote syslog server?) When your host is already using syslog-ng, the jboss logging should go along. regards, Siem -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: syslog-ng-bounces@lists.balabit.hu namens Joby Joba Verzonden: wo 9-9-2009 8:45 Aan: syslog-ng@lists.balabit.hu Onderwerp: [syslog-ng] jboss / syslog-ng Hello. Nice ! With this method, I can catch the log from jboss (thanks !!!). I would like to make it a little better I use the facility local6 because the loca7 was already in use. In the log I "loose" the information like "INFO", "ERROR", etc ... that we can find in the server.log file from jboss. Is there a way to keep this information using syslog-ng ? Thanks for your help Yop 2009/9/9 Siem Korteweg <Siem.Korteweg@qnh.nl>

Hi What version of syslog-ng do you run ?? You can log easily info from any file, thanks to the file() directive in the source structure. The manual explain it pretty well ;) 2009/9/9 Joby Joba <jobyjoba59@gmail.com>
