some of these functions were implemented in 1.5.3 but that version didn't have a NEWS entry, that's why I added it here. Somebody requested that syslog-ng should make it possible to escape templated output files, it's now possible with the template-escape() option. I've updated the docs, though my changes touch only the surface.

Any help for updating the documentation is welcome.
