Hi, I was trying to install Syslogd on Redhat Linux 9, for which i am not sure of its compatibilty. I installed the following packages successfully. a. Libol, b. Stunnel. c. Logsentry. But when i couldnot able to install syslog-ng. Is syslog-ng compatible with Red hat linux. Does anybody know the development website for syslog-ng. Thanks a lot. With Regards! Chaitanya.
Chaitanya, I have been maintaining SRPMS of libol and syslog-ng. They are available on the following address: http://gsd.di.uminho.pt/jpo/software/RPMS/ They build without problems in Red Hat 7.3, 9, Fedora Core 1 and 2 (test2). The configuration file included is similar to the one RH includes with Syslog. FEDORA.US - community project (http://www.fedora.us/) ----------------------------------------------------- The libol is already available in Fedora.us mirrors for RH9, FC1, and FC2 (test) - check the RPMS.testing and the SRPMS.testing directories. The syslog-ng specfile is still waiting approval by Fedora.us QA testers. For more information check the following bugzilla entries: libol https://bugzilla.fedora.us/show_bug.cgi?id=1331 syslog-ng https://bugzilla.fedora.us/show_bug.cgi?id=1332 Regards, jpo -- José Pedro Oliveira * mailto: jpo@di.uminho.pt * http://gsd.di.uminho.pt/~jpo * * gpg fingerprint = F9B6 8D87 859D 1C94 48F0 84C0 9749 9EB5 91BD 851B *
