On a a normal case it works fine .

After copying my syslog-ng.conf.server-sample as syslog-ng.conf., when i restart the daemon, it does not comlian about anything and gives me a PID as well. But the daemon does not seem to have started. Below are the logs.

Well are you sure syslog-ng will be able to start if started using /opt/soe/local/syslog_ng/sbin/syslog-ng ? I mean are LD_LIBRARY_PATH and such set properly? Even under srcmstr?
