[syslog-ng] What is the latest version of Syslog-ng?

Hi All, We are currently using syslog-ng 1.4.14 and i would like to use & know the latest version of this syslog-ng? What is the purpose of the latest version? How to download the latest version? What are all the dependencies? Please direct me.. Thank you,
