Yes, the 3.3 branch supports threading. Note though that 3.3 hasnt had a great track record so far (lots of bugs). However 3.3.3 might be stable enough for production use. -Patrick Sent: Fri Nov 18 2011 19:46:48 GMT-0700 (MST) From: Avleen Vig <avleen@gmail.com> To: syslog-ng@lists.balabit.hu Subject: [syslog-ng] Multi-threaded in open source?
Hi everyone,
I'm running an infrastructure with several hundred hosts logging many hundreds of Gb of logs to a central server. Syslog-ng on the central server is using 100% CPU on a single core, and I see here: http://bazsi.blogs.balabit.com/2011/07/syslog-ng-multithreaded-performance/ that there is some multi-threading option available!
Is this only in the PE version or is there an OSE edition with this feature? ______________________________________________________________________________ Member info: https://lists.balabit.hu/mailman/listinfo/syslog-ng Documentation: http://www.balabit.com/support/documentation/?product=syslog-ng FAQ: http://www.balabit.com/wiki/syslog-ng-faq
