sysklogd uses a unix-dgram source by default, thus I assume your syslog-ng config uses unix-stream.

Me to here on my clean system, postfix and crond are logging fine further on even syslog-ng is restarted. Thank you very very much!!!! Looks like FAQ, doc and contrib/syslog2ng need to be updated.
