it is not a sign of failure. syslog-ng reports that it dropped this amount of messages since the last STATS message.
which version are you running? can you create a backtrace of the crash?
syslog-ng 1.5.24 what you mean by "create a backtrace of the crash" - I checked log file and there is no other messages from syslog-ng than 'STATS: dropped 0'. The most prabably it died after massiv restart of syslogd on all our Linxes - as these are the last messages in syslog === ...
