Hi there, I think the move to run an official package repository for major distributions is a bold move, and is greatly appreciated. Thanks! I figured the other move to a rolling release model [1] is compatible with that decision, and totally makes sense on that front. That being said, I stongly believe the latter will make things worse for OS distributions: maintainers will have an even harder time to update the syslog-ng package than they have now: without bug or security related fixes. I don't think the extra burden of backports will help syslog-ng be the distribution's favourite syslog daemon.
