Hi out there, This is the first post to this list, so this serves as a test message too. I would like to announce that the first snapshot (version 1.1.1) of the development branch has been released. As you may know syslog-ng is under a complete rewrite, and several important parts of syslog-ng has not been implemented yet, therefore this version is _NOT_ intended for production use. This version is meant to be the proof of the concept. The new syslog-ng uses a semi-OO style, borrowed from lsh, a GNU GPLed ssh clone developed by Niels Moller. (http://www.lysator.liu.se/~nisse/archives) Look for the file HACKING within the lsh archive. This version implements: * file sources and destinations * unix sources * configuration parsing So it is enough to see how it is working. An example syslog-ng.conf file is included. Happy hacking, --- Bazsi
