Hi,

No, this change has no effect. Both OSE and PE can be installed from RPM packages without any problems.

Hi Everyone,

I recently heard, that Red Hat has retired SHA1 in RHEL 9: https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/rhel-security-sha-1-package-signatures-distrusted-rhel-9
Does that affect syslog-ng or its rpm packages in any way?

Best Regards,
János

Make the switch to open (source) applications, protocols, formats now:
- windows -> Linux, iexplore -> Firefox, msoffice -> LibreOffice
- msn -> jabber protocol (Pidgin, Google Talk)
- mp3 -> ogg, wmv -> ogg, jpg -> png, doc/xls/ppt -> odt/ods/odp

Hi,

Both syslog-ng open source and PE work fine on RHEL 9:

Open source is available in EPEL, up-to-date versions in my unofficial repositories:https://www.syslog-ng.com/community/b/blog/posts/overview-of-syslog-ng-rpm-repositories

PE is a commercial product, without some of the experimental OSE features, and adding a few exclusive compliance and cloud related features: https://www.syslog-ng.com/products/log-management-software/

Peter

Ps: sorry for the slow response, there were some problems with the mailing list.

Has anyone seen any issues with syslog-ng running on RHEL 9? Any pointers, caveats?

Thanks

William
