I think this patch makes things worse.

The code in value pairs seem to keep state in the initial GTrashStack member, which this patch breaks as it moves that
to a local variable.

I tried to cook a better version, but couldn't in the timeframe I was able to look at it
Also it'd probably be better if Algernon worked on it as the original author of
Both value pairs and the patch
