[syslog-ng] issues with syslog-ng install of new version or running older version on mac osX 10.6.7

your build tree seems dirty. the .deps directory the error message
refers to is automatically generated. it contains the list of
dependencies for misc.c, to be used to detect if a recompilation is
needed.

can you perhaps remove the build directory and extract it from scratch?
alternatively, you need to make sure that the .deps directory exists (it
should have been created automatically, I don't know why it wasn't the
case for you; perhaps you removed it?)

This issue is not syslog-ng specific, the .deps directory is handled by
automake and autoconf.
