Thanks for reporting this problem and sorry for not coming back to you sooner.

I've responded to one of your earlier emails regarding this problem and come up with
a possible solution. If that helps, this ticket can be closed.

For a reference here's the patch that should fix this issue in a different way:

    dbparser: don't create a separate shared library for libsyslog-ng-patterndb

    Use a static library instead, linked into both the db-parser() plugin
    and the pdbtool binary.

    This solves the linking issues on Cygwin and doesn't publish an internal
    shared library from syslog-ng.
