as discussed on the mailing list (bugzilla tickets are automatically sent there), it seems to be a configuration issue.

syslog-ng is using the new RFC5424 style messages, and I guess envision doesn't support that.

use the udp() or tcp() drivers to get the old format, syslog() is for the new RFC5424 protocol.
