[syslog-ng] Getting error when checking syntax

When I run ./syslog-ng --syntax, I get the following:
 
ld.so.1: syslog-ng: fatal: relocation error: file syslog-ng: symbol g_option_context_new: referenced symbol not found
Killed
As suggested, I installed syslog-ng 3.0.4 from SFW.  
 
This is a Solaris 10 SPARC physical machine.
