[syslog-ng] Syslog-ng in Solaris 8

you'll probably need to modify the Solaris /etc/rc.d/init.d script for
syslog and/or install your own.

Once you've done that, you can tell which is running by:

ps -ef | grep -i syslog
/usr/usb/ps gauxww|grep -i syslog
