[syslog-ng] Compliation errors

Hi , 
I downloaded and installed event.pc suucessfuly. Whe I run ./configure
from syslog2.0.4 source directory I get the following error : 

checking for LIBNET... which: no libnet-config in
(/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sb
in:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin)
./configure: line 6437: --defines: command not found
./configure: line 6438: --libs: command not found


Any ideas what may be the problem ?
