[syslog-ng] what influence occurs ?

it depends on the configuration, we run both on the same OS.
we configure syslogd to do all the local logging, we configure syslog-ng
to do all the network logging, you could configure syslog-ng to do both,
we have two separate departments managing OS support vs application
support, and syslog-ng is regarded application, so we often had another
department configuring syslog-ng and messing up our local logging in the
process, which is why we decided to use both.
