This is probably related to your old version - that's not even a release
version of 1.6.0. Please download 1.6.8 and libol 1.3.16 from:
http://www.balabit.com/downloads/libol/0.3/libol-0.3.16.tar.gz
http://www.balabit.com/downloads/syslog-ng/1.6/src/syslog-ng-1.6.8.tar.gz
...if you're still having trouble with building this up-to date version,
