[syslog-ng] host_cache.txt and date_cache.txt

i have a simple question, i'm trying to make a manual for the instalation of
php syslog-ng (for documentation) but i don't know what exactly are
host_cache.txt and date_cache.txt for...

can anyone explain me what are they for?
