Please excuse, but I still don't understand.

libglib-2.0.la is in /usr/local/lib

what do I have to do?

I still have=20
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-slackware-linux/3.3.4/../../../../i486-slackware
-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lglib-2.0

What lib is it exactly looking for ?
in /usr/local/lib I also have the glib-2.0 directory which includes a
header file.
