long_hostnames is a deprecated alias for chain_hostnames.
syslog-ng.conf.doc is a contributed file, I'm not maintaining it,
however I applied your patches.

I don't want to maintain it, the authoritive source for syslog-ng
related information is the SGML based documentation, although certainly
having an up to date manpage is nice.
