I've released syslog-ng 1.4.4:

NEWS for syslog-ng 1.4.4
* file permission specifiers readded for pipe()
* fixed a configure.in bug on systems without snprintf()
* updated documentation (New chapter: Finetuning, added some things about
  DEFAULT filter evaluation)

NEWS for libol 0.2.17
* will not compile in the malloc debugger if --with-debug is specified,
  caused unaligned memory accesses on Alpha
