  A new long-term supported version of the syslog-ng Agent for Windows has been
  released.

  * Support for the Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 platforms

  This version of the Agent is a major update over previous versions and to
  provide a seamless experience for the users of syslog-ng Premium Edition on
  other platforms some minor but incompatible changes were made regarding the
  configuration settings. This might require you to review your settings.
  Please review the "Changes on the graphical interface", "Removed
  functionality" and "Other changes" sections of the What's New guide
  carefully before upgrading.

  HOW TO UPGRADE:

  WARNING
  Upgrading to syslog-ng Agent for Windows version 5.0.1 is supported only
  from syslog-ng Agent version 4.0.x (any release in the 4.0 line)

   * When upgrading a machine running version 4.0.x in standalone
     mode, run the .exe installer and verify that the displayed information
     is correct.
   * When upgrading a machine running version 4.0.x in domain
     mode, follow the steps described in section 'Installing the syslog-ng
     Agent on the hosts of a domain' of the documentation.
     The system will automatically recognize that the new package will
     update the syslog-ng Agent for Windows package.
