tproxy4 is more or less compatible with transparent proxying as was present in the 2.2 kernel. The only exception is the fact that a transparent proxy using application needs to enable the IP_FREEBIND socket option (or set the tproxy_any module option for the iptable_tproxy module to 1) So if squid worked with 2.2, it should also work with tproxy 4, if you enable tproxy_any. -- Bazsi
