Does Ubuntu add anything to 2.6.24 why you wouldn't want to just run the latest kernel from source on Ubuntu instead? I do that with Redhat and Centos and they have lots of extras in the kernel... (Not suggesting it would be difficult, just why bother when it's easier just to go forward?)

Has anyone backported TPROXY to 2.6.24, the kernel used in Ubuntu Hardy? Any reason why it'd be difficult or impossible?
apart from the network virtualization stuff that caused us headaches when porting the patches forward, it should relatively easy.
but if you have a specific problem, just ask, we might help.
