Appreciate your reply. I do see some tests in the syslog-ng source and wanted to find out if there is any other test suite that is run against the builds. Since there is a paid version and an open source version, I wanted to find out what benefit I get by going to the paid version.

Re: [syslog-ng] What testing has been done for the new features in open source version of syslog-ng version 3.x

Hi Janani,

I am sorry, but I don't really understand you. Nevertheless, I am trying to answer you.
First of all, what kind of tests have you thought? Of course, we have tested the syslog protocol of the syslog-ng and it worked. If you have any question about this protocol, or found a bug, don't hesitate to tell us it.

Also, we have installer packages for the following platforms, as you can see:
debian-etch-amd64Directory 2009-12-07
debian-etch-i386Directory 2009-12-07
freebsd-6.1-i386Directory 2009-12-07
linux-amd64Directory 2009-12-07
linux-i386Directory 2009-12-07
rhel-4-amd64Directory 2009-12-07
rhel-4-i386Directory 2009-12-07
rhel-5-amd64Directory 2009-12-07
rhel-5-i386Directory 2009-12-07
suse-10-i386Directory 2009-12-07

This is just a list from our website (
http://www.balabit.com/downloads/files/syslog-ng/sources/3.0.5/setups/).
Also, you can download the source code of syslog-ng and try to compile for your platform by manual.
